I moved to Bristol in January 1995 and began working as a freelance model maker, initially for Limbs & Things Ltd - a medical model making company that is still going strong today, then for Bumper Films Ltd (of Fireman Sam fame) and finally for the famous Aardman Animations at Gas Ferry Road (the original premises where, at that time, they made models for various adverts).

This puppet of the character 'Soil' was made almost entirely from plasticine. The puppet designs were by Lewis ? and they were for a film for World Wildlife Fund, shown in America

I worked with Lee Tetzner on this project at Aardman, for The Daily Telegraph - I was only responsible for the shell and not the complex armature inside the snail's body
My job here was to keep casting and then tidying up new plasticine heads for the dogs used in a Smarties advert - in previous photo. The dog's ears were made from silicone and were moveable to create character.
These dogs had challenging armatures and frequently required repair - I didn't make them, but often had to deal with the damage after they had had a hard day of being animated. they were animated very well by a very talented animator and were part of
